Derwent Inktense Blocks are watersoluble ink blocks that can be used dry or wet.
Dry, they deliver pure, vibrant color. When wet, they create a translucent ink-like paint, when dry they become permanent and so can be worked over.
Their chunky shape makes them extremely versatile. Use them dry to apply fine lines or broad strokes directly to the paper. Wet, they can be used like pans of paint, dipped in water to apply color directly to the paper, or applied to wet paper for instant, intense color. Using the Derwent Grate 'n Shake you can create washes as strong or dilute as you wish. The Derwent Gripper is also available for use with this product.
Inktense Blocks are ideal for loose, expressive landscapes and colorful still life paintings. As they are permanent when dry they are ideal for journal backgrounds where you may want to add additional media on top.
They can also be used for rubber stamping, decoupage, or on fabric to create stunning silk paintings and quilts. They also combine beautifully with Derwent Inktense Pencils.
